This paper provides a critical review of the desirability, potential, and prospects for a more male-inclusive approach to gender and development (GAD). Accepting that men have always been involved intentionally, indirectly, or otherwise, in a field concerned primarily with a vast range of inequities experienced by their female counterparts, the emphasis here is on men as gendered beings.
